Richard Choate has been representing Pierce Manufacturing since 1999 and has delivered all types of apparatus. Richard has a "keen eye for detail" and works closely with the customer to assure the finished apparatus meets the department's needs. Richards' customer base includes urban, suburban and rural areas and he has been able to design and deliver the appropriate apparatus for those departments. Richard will frequently make recommendations to the customer, but also reminds the customer that "this is their truck and asks them to talk about what is important to their department". Richard has thirty-four years of fire department experience which includes nine years volunteer/part-paid and twenty-five years with a career department. Richard has worked in all levels of the fire service and retired as a Battalion Chief. Richard is also a Paramedic and an Instructor-Coordinator, was a Director of a hospital owned EMS system and has been involved in radio communications, computer aided dispatch, fire station design and construction. Richard is married with two children and when not involved with the family or fire apparatus he can be found involved with technology or watching/talking about airplanes, trains and lake freighters.

Born and raised in Dearborn, Bruce eventually became a Firefighter/Paramedic for the Dearborn Fire Department. After serving on active duty in the USAF as Forward Air Controller/Joint Tactical Air Control/TACP, he returned to Michigan and joined the USAF Reserves as a Firefighter at Selfridge ANG Base in Mt. Clemens. Bruce also attended the Oakland Community College Fire Academy and was hired into Dearborn Fire. Retired from DFD in late 2011 as the Apparatus Supervisor (Battalion Chief) in-charge of the fleet and all equipment related to firefighting, Bruce's duties required writing specifications for apparatus and equipment and presenting proposal to administration and government leaders. He is very familiar and with fire apparatus and the mechanical features of them. He has had experience with all the major brands of apparatus over the many years and has learned there’s always more to learn. Fire apparatus technology is changing rapidly and it’s an exciting time for purchasers and manufactures. Bruce really enjoys being a part of and assisting Fire Departments with these critical purchasing decisions.

Ted joined the Halt Fire training staff in 2016 to instruct chassis, pump maintenance and operations for new Pierce apparatus deliveries. As of June 2022, Ted has taught on over 50 departments in operational training from mini pumpers to aerials and industrial foam pumpers. He has also become certified as an instructor by the Renewable Fuels Association and now teaches foam operations classes, specializing the Pierce Husky 3 and Husky 12 foam systems. He has had a passion for teaching Fire Department water supply operations. Ted is also a career Firefighter/Paramedic with over 28 years of experience in the fire service. He has been involved with the specification and purchase of more than 20 emergency vehicles within and outside of his own department. Those apparatus range from light duty rescue trucks and ambulances to pumpers and pumper tankers. Coming from a suburban/rural fire department, he has made water supply operations his instructional passion. Throughout his career Ted has become certified as a Technician in many areas of technical rescue including confined space, rope, trench rescue and structural collapse. He was a member of the MABAS 3201 Technical Rescue Team as well as a current member of the Oakland County Incident Management Team. Ted holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Oakland University and is a certified Michigan fire instructor.

Tom retired from the Detroit Fire Department with 39 years of firefighting service. Tom was a senior member of the apparatus design committee where he was instrumental in developing specifications, reviewing proposals, inspecting and accepting nearly 100 different fire apparatus deliveries to the city of Detroit. In addition Tom has also been involved in research, training and problem solving for the fire apparatus division.

Pat Wright is experienced in gathering your thoughts and ideas and building a Pierce fire truck to fit your needs and budget. Pat started his career in Public Safety in 1977 when he joined the Davison Fire Department just out of high school. In 1979 he formed a relationship with Halt Fire and Pierce Manufacturing with the truck he is pictured with, which is still in service.

Being a Police Officer also, when the City of Kalamazoo combined their police and fire department to form Public Safety this appeared to be a natural fit. Pat started as a Fire Fighter and retired as Executive Lieutenant. Shortly after retiring, Pat was called back to Public Safety to serve as Assistant Chief. Once that assignment was completed, He went on to serve as the Director of Emergency Management for Kalamazoo County.

Pat has represented Halt Fire and Pierce since 2006. Pat is married to Tammy Wright and they have 4 sons and 8 grandchildren.

Kevin's history with the fire service dates back to 1993 when he started helping his father while working at Pomasl Fire Equipment. Kevin started in service repairing apparatus and then going with his father to delivery new Pierce apparatus. Kevin left the industry for a in order to attend college but came back to take on a new role in sales of equipment and then expanding into all type of apparatus.

Kevin Pomasl has been representing Pierce Manufacturing since 2000. During this time, he has delivered a wide array of apparatus from smaller 12' rescue trucks to 6x6 pumper-tanker, to custom pumpers to Industrial pumpers to aerials.

Kevin covers the entire Upper Peninsula with most of the area very rural with occasional medium sized cities. Kevin utilizes his years of experience to help customers design trucks that fit both their budget and their needs. Kevin focuses on the customer's needs and coverage area and gives suggestions for layouts to help them operate in the most efficient manner; however, the final layout is always up to the customer since they will be using the truck.

Kevin is married with two children. When not working, Kevin enjoys spending time with family, riding and racing his road and mountain bicycles and spending time outdoors hunting.

Tom began his fire service career in 1989 as a paid on-call fire fighter while he was attending college. In 1994, Tom became a full time fire fighter with Independence Township Fire Department where he currently works as a Captain/Paramedic.

Tom came to work for Halt Fire, Inc. in December of 2014, representing both Pierce Manufacturing and PL Custom.

While new to our sales team, Tom has a long history with Pierce dating back to 1993 when he made him first trip to Appleton as an extra set of eyes for a delivery trip. Since that time, Tom has been involved in several apparatus projects for his department and has been involved in County, Regional and State projects as well. From new apparatus, to apparatus refurbishment, even a demonstrator aerial that was purchased and sent for modifications. Tom has worked on all types of projects with Pierce and has been involved in ambulance projects with several manufactures.

Listening to the customers needs, ensuring those needs are designed into their truck specifications and follow-up after delivery is Tom’s focus as a Halt Fire, Inc. Sales Representative.
